Coined by our loyal customers as the “legal diesel,” PavePro stands as a testament to cutting-edge innovation, providing superior cleaning capabilities, extended durability under high temperatures, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
It’s time to say goodbye to the “good ‘ol #2 release agent,” or any other asphalt solvent for that matter. We’re changing the game when it comes to safety, in every aspect. Let’s take a look at what sets PavePro apart from the rest.
We talk about flash point in our blog posts a lot because, frankly, it’s the most important factor when shopping for an asphalt solvent or release agent. It is one of the main attributes that affect the efficiency and safety of the solution you’re using.
PavePro clocks a flash point well above 400°F, higher than any other asphalt solvent tested in an INDOT and Purdue University study to determine the best asphalt solvent among the top products. They also found that PavePro was the most effective, but that’s a story for later. But why is this so crucial?
You can read more about why flash point makes asphalt solvents last longer under high heat here, but a high flash point also directly correlates to the safety of the product.
Diesel fuel has a flash point of around 130°F. This means that under the heat of asphalt, it immediately beings to flash or turn into a vapor, out of the hopper of a paver or off your tools. This is evident when you’re spraying diesel fuel and you see all of that steam coming up. Because of its high flash point, PavePro doesn’t vaporize like diesel fuel does.
Now, I’m sure you know that both PavePro and diesel fuel aren’t flammable, but diesel fuel is, in fact, combustible. This means that once that vapor has been created from the heat, diesel fuel can explode and injure workers and destroy equipment. This is a common cause of asphalt plant explosions. PavePro, on the other hand, will not combust.
100% Deactivated By Water
It’s as simple as that. If you spill it, just rinse it. If you’re cleaning something sensitive, just rinse it. Unlike diesel, PavePro is 100% deactivated with water.
This means it’s safe on any material. Rubber tires and lines on a distributor truck won’t be harmed by PavePro where other asphalt solvents do. It’s even okay (by us, not the boss) if you spill PavePro on a fresh mat. You could have a new guy on the crew knock a 5-gallon bucket off a truck onto a fresh mat, and instead of milling it up and repaving, you just have to rinse it with water. I can assure you it’ll save you a lot of time and headaches.
It Won’t Harm A Thing: pH Neutral And Non-Caustic
PavePro is also pH neutral and non-caustic which makes it even safer on delicate materials like painted surfaces, rubber, and polished aluminum.
It won’t peel your paint, eat your rubber, or dull out your aluminum at all. Just come back with water and you’ve got nothing to worry about. Diesel fuel and citrus products, on the other hand, are highly caustic, and citrus products have wonky and acidic pH levels. They quickly eat through delicate materials and leave a residue that’ll keep messing things up, and they aren’t deactivated by water.
It’s Non-Toxic & Non-Hazardous
PavePro is the safest diesel-fuel alternative for paving crews. Unlike most citrus products, PavePro does not contain any volatile organic compounds or dermally-absorbed carcinogens.
With a quick Google search, here are a couple of the carcinogens and toxic chemicals found in the most common citrus asphalt cleaners, according to the company’s published SDSs:
And these companies claim their products are “non-hazardous.” Do your own Google search on each of the products and see what you think.
At PavePro, we guarantee all of our products are non-toxic and non-hazardous.
Of Course, It’s 100% Biodegradable
And as always, if you couldn’t tell by the leaf in our green logo, PavePro is 100% biodegradable and safe for the environment. Now, most people don’t care about this, but if you do, or you’re required to use a biodegradable product, PavePro is the one for you.
If you don’t care about biodegradability, take a stroll around our website and see why PavePro can and will change the way you pave, forever.
